Cleveland is now home to Ohio’s largest wind turbine, and one of the largest in North America. It stands at 278 feet, or just a little below the height of Cedar Point’s Millenium Force. Just of the Shoreway in Euclid, it will benefit from the strong winds off of Lake Erie. Lincoln Electric, a world class, Cleveland-based manufacturer of welding equipment, has purchased the 2.5 megawatt turbine from Kenersys, a German wind turbine manufacturer, in an effort to help convince Kenersys to locate its North American headquarters and factory in Cleveland. This is part of an effort going forward to bring jobs and investment to Cleveland in the renewable energy field.
